Holiday Lectures Improve Presentation Techniques

When I was away on a holiday recently, I had the chance to attend what were called enrichment lectures.  Very interesting they were too.  I learned lots about Admiral Nelson and various other admdirals and sea captains.  I also learned a great deal about the haphazard nature of some of the expeditions to open up the North West Passage and other outlying places.  These lectures were presented with enthusiasm by a chap who had been a naval officer for years and upon leaving the service had been an early author of online electronic learning resources.  He was heavily into the ‘tip tap’ school of learning and had provided many companies with custom designed training courses for all kinds of disciplines and vocations.   I found his lectures very interesting, to the point where I actually took details of other online resources offered and have discovered a new interest since returning home.  Two of the subjects will really help with my part time stewarding role at a local heritage property – it will definitely enhance my delivery of the information I impart to visitors.  It’s amazing how one well choreographed powerpoint presentation can light up a hitherto unknown interest!
